Anthony Davis graduated from Stony Brook University in 1993 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. Wanting to practice with a hands-on approach, he began working and learning from Ad Warmerdam, a notable Manual Physical Therapist on Long Island. For ten years he worked for Dr. Warmerdam and learned his unique approach to physical therapy,Arthrokinetic Therapy; strengthening muscles through joint mobilization. Also during that time, Anthony grew interested in the McKenzie approach of treating neck and back pain and sought extensive training through The McKenzie Institute. Ascribing to this method for many years, he was exposed to another treatment philosophy after sustaining a hip injury. Requiring physical therapy, he began receiving Myofascial Release (MFR) and subsequently expanded his treatment beliefs to include MFR as his hip condition improved. For the next eight years, he absorbed as much about Myofascial Release as he could, taking courses with John Barnes, the founder himself. Today, Anthony continues working with patients as a manual therapist, integrating 26 years of knowledge while emphasizing the Myofascial Release approach. When not treating, Anthony is an award winning artist and writer, having just completed his first novel.
