Foot Pain

Sprains, strains, osteoarthritis, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, are just some of the many causes of foot pain. But those conditions are isolated to the foot. Conditions elsewhere in the body can also be the reason you’re experiencing pain in the foot. For example, muscles have pain referral patterns, making you feel symptoms elsewhere in the body. Hence your foot pain may be coming from a muscle higher up in the leg. Also, if a nerve exiting your spinal cord is irritated, by a herniated disc for example, it can make you feel pain in your foot. These are instances that traditional treatment approaches sometimes miss, though a myofascial release trained physical therapist is especially trained in considering the whole body when you’re in pain.
