Have you been diagnosed with spinal stenosis but the prescribed treatment isn’t helping?

Spinal stenosis is the narrowing of a canal formed by adjoining vertebrae. As a result, spinal nerves could be compressed or impinged, causing symptoms that may include pain, weakness and/or numbness/tingling. The diagnosis is often made with imaging studies (X-rays, MRI’s, CT Scan).

Sometimes the prescribed treatment (surgery, injections) is not helpful, because the true cause of the pain is emanating elsewhere, mimicking that of spinal stenosis. Misaligned pelvic bones, and overly tight muscles attached to the pelvis or spine (such as the psoas and piriformis) can also be the cause of these symptoms, which cannot be diagnosed using X-Rays, MRI’s, etc. They can only be diagnosed through the skilled eyes and hands of a therapist.

A myofascial release practitioner is highly skilled at helping in these situations.
